Consumer-Directed Health Plan PPO (CDHP)

When you’re enrolled in the Consumer Directed Health Plan (CDHP), you will also be enrolled in a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) to help offset your deductible. An HRA is an account that CHOP contributes money to each plan year you are enrolled in the CDHP.

You have the option of using network providers to maximize your benefits or using out-of-network providers at higher out-of-pocket costs. Under your CDHP, there is also a third network tier where your dependent children can receive care at a CHOP facility or through a CHOP provider at a lower cost for covered services.

HRA Administration

Your HRA is administered by Independence. Your balance will automatically be used to pay eligible health-related expenses. If you don’t use all the funds in your account, you can roll them over from year to year (up to a three-year maximum of $1,500 for an individual or $3,000 for a family).
