Payment Options

We offer members several convenient ways to pay their monthly premium(s). Feel free to share this brochure outlining payment options with your clients.

Payment options include:

eBill

Making payments with eBill is simple and convenient. There’s no need to wait for paper bills or to spend money on postage to mail payments. Beginning up to 15 days before the coverage effective date, members can pay their bill online directly from their bank account. They can also view their bills online, make one-time payments or set up recurring payments, and set up notifications to know when a bill is due, when a payment amount changes, and when money is deducted from their bank account.

To get started, log in at ibx.com and select Manage Account.

Members can schedule a payment up to ten days before the payment due date. Payments through eBill can only be made before the invoice due date. Members can view a past-due invoice in their invoice history, but they won’t be able to pay it. Members will need to use another payment option to pay past-due invoices.

Guest Pay

Visit ibx.com/guestpay to make a one-time payment. Please ensure that the account type (e.g., checking vs. savings) and all other details are correct.

Pay online through the bank

Members can use their bank’s online bill pay service to make electronic payments from their bank account. They will need the following information:

  1. Billing account number — Their billing account number is printed on their bill payment slip. It is different from their member ID number, which is printed on their ID card.
  2. Payment address — This address is printed at the bottom of their invoice and on the payment slip.

If members are using their bank’s online bill pay service to pay their premium and change plans (for example, from an HMO to a PPO plan), they must delete their bill account and create a new one using the billing account number printed on the invoice for their new plan. They’ll need to set up the new bill account before making their first premium payment.

Pay with the IBX app

The free IBX mobile app lets members pay their premium on the go with an Apple or Android smartphone. Each month, they can view their amount due, enter their bank account or prepaid debit card information, and submit a payment. Simply tap Member Services and select Pay My Bill.

Members can download the IBX app for free at the App Store or Google Play.

Pay by phone

Members enrolled in medical, adult dental, or adult vision coverage can make a payment by phone using our automated system at 888-879-4891 (TTY: 711). For the first premium payment, we accept Automated Clearing House (ACH), prepaid debit cards, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover).

Members will need the following information available when they call:

  • Member ID number (printed on their member ID card
  • Billing account number (printed on their invoice)
  • Billing account number (printed on their invoice)

Pay by personal check or money order

Every bill includes a detachable payment slip with the member’s current billing account number and payment address. Members should remember to:

  1. Write the amount they are enclosing on the slip and return it with their personal check or money order to the payment address printed on the invoice.
  2. Be sure that the address shows through the return envelope window when mailing in the payment. If a member loses the envelope, they can mail the payment to the address on the payment slip.

Pay in-person

Members can visit Independence LIVE to make a payment. They should bring the following information:

  • Member ID number (printed on their member ID card
  • Billing account number (printed on their invoice)
  • Billing account number (printed on their invoice)
