Nutrition and weight management
Healthy eating doesn't have to be difficult, but some people may need extra support to develop a routine that works for them and their family. Independence Blue Cross (IBX) offers a variety of tools, programs, and resources to help members make healthy food choices and manage their weight so they can feel their best.
Healthy diet
A balanced diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein, is key to optimal health. It impacts how you look and feel. Eating well can help you shed extra pounds or maintain a healthy weight, boost your energy, and protect against many serious illnesses and diseases, including diabetes, heart disease and stroke, some cancers, osteoarthritis, and depression.
Choosing and preparing healthy food for you and your family is a whole lot easier when you have access to the right information, tools, and resources. Visit the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Choose MyPlate for healthy recipes, menu builders, food and fitness trackers, and comprehensive information for parents and teachers of children of all ages.
Nutrition counseling
Ditch the diets and learn how to eat right for life by meeting with a nutrition professional. Members can use their nutrition counseling benefit1 to receive up to six one-on-one in-person or virtual visits with a nutrition professional at no additional cost. Members have the option of seeing an in-network registered dietitian or a nutrition counselor via HUSK Nutrition, available through the HUSK Marketplace, to access personalized virtual nutrition counseling.
Make a nutrition counseling appointment today
Take advantage of your nutrition counseling benefit1 by simply scheduling an appointment with a participating registered dietitian, your primary care provider, or another network provider.
You can search for a participating registered dietitian using the Find a Doctor tool.
Weight loss management program reimbursement available
For some people, a weight management program that offers nutrition support can help them reach their personal health goals. That's why IBX offers members up to $150 for enrolling in and completing WeightWatchers® (WW), WeightWatchers® Online (WW Online), Noom, or an approved weight management program at an in-network hospital.
On-demand weight loss support
Members also have access to Wondr HealthTM (Wondr)2, a digital behavioral change program that goes beyond diet fads to teach members how to reach a healthy weight and improve their overall health without giving up the foods they love. This service is available to members at no additional cost.
To get started with Wondr, members can visit wondrhealth.com/IBX.
