Nurses do so much to keep their patients and communities healthy every day. When it matters most, they are there for us, offering comfort, hope, and healing. Their caring and compassion deserves recognition.
For the eighth year, Independence Blue Cross (IBX) is proud to spotlight the region’s top nurses through our Celebrate Caring campaign.
Every act of care has a story. Tell us about a nurse who showed what caring truly means. Share your story by May 24 of a special nurse who has made a lasting impact in your life for a chance to have that nurse recognized and rewarded through Celebrate Caring.
Three winners will be selected. The winning nurses will receive the Sunshine Award for their commitment to delivering compassionate care, dedication to the community, and innovation in their work. The award is named in honor of the late Paula Sunshine, former IBX Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Executive, who helped launch Celebrate Caring in 2019.

Note: Nurses must live in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware to be eligible.
Lisa draws on her experiences as an immigrant and a nurse for 20+ years to support the health and well-being of the region’s Cambodian community through her nonprofit, the Khmer Performing Arts and Culture group.
Throughout her 25+ year career, Trina has supported the health care needs of underserved populations. Her nonprofit, Trinity Transitional House, helps vulnerable families regain stability and independence.
Alexandra pursued a degree in nursing after working in a different field for 10 years. A passionate advocate for youth mental health, she developed a program to support the well-being of students at Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia Charter School.
